Rainbow Run trail is an unusual but nice trail to hike - not much elevation, various terrain (grass, gravel - not newly laid, asphalt, etc.). You pass by farm fields, highway, forest, and wetlands. Lots of butterflies (monarchs, I think), an honey bees (they're after the pollen in the flowers, not you! so don't swat them or otherwise worry).

Friendly and helpful staff, bundles of kindling ($2.50 in 2017) and firewood ($7.00 in 2017) are available, and they burn nicely. You can also get the stuff to colour the flames, but I don't remember the price.

Cons: The lake water wasn't safe for swimming because of high bacterial levels, and there were goose droppings on the beach. This was probably because the park was virtually empty on the Monday, which meant the geese could make themselves right at home.

Campsites are fairly large, not too close together, and some are right next to a river (Salmon Run - you have to navigate down the embankment, but it's not difficult), with good launch sites (no docks, just an area that many people have walked & launched from).

Overall, it's a nice family (and fur-baby) friendly park, not far from civilization.

It's a nice place I think they could have some more maps and a cleaner lake but for everything else it's really nice and pretty

Beautiful with the changing seasons. Beach is man made and not swimmable but unnecessary for enjoyment. It's beautiful and well run. Available as wedding venue as well.

Pros: The staff were all very friendly and helpful. The afternoon activities at the visitor center were fun and educational for kids. The park is well maintained, clean and well marked. The beaches are very large, as is the pool. There are several trails, with a variety of terrain and views, and we biked on most of them. There are tons of places to picnic in the park, from single tables along the water, to large covered shelters. Also, the park is close to Alliston, so if you forgot something, it's a quick trip to pick it up.
